The Redskins finished 10-6 in 1999 and owner Daniel Snyder spent lots of money in the offseason to make them a Super Bowl contender. After signing the likes of Bruce Smith, Deion Sanders and Jeff George, the 'Skins entered the season with the league's first-ever $100 million payroll. In addition, they added rookies Lavar Arrington and Chris Samuels with the No. 2 and No. 3 overall picks in the draft. Despite having all of those weapons, the 'Skins posted an 8-8 record, and coach Norv Turner lost his job midway through the season.
Did somebody forget that the mission in any professional sport is to win? In acheiving this it is important to surround yourself with people that know what the fuck is going on!
