The Miracle on the Mountain

I always thought the best part is when they still had to kick off to us.

How you can tell when a game REALLY means something.

To: Mountaineer Fans
From: Appalachian Football Team Captains Marques Murrell, Jeremy Wiggins, Matt Isenhour and Daniel Bettis; and Chancellor Ken Peacock
Date: October 23, 2006
How fortunate we are to enjoy such great fans as the Mountaineers! Great fans not only support us with lots of spirit, but they also show respect to all who are guests on our campus – officials, spectators and fans from other teams. Sportsmanship is a hallmark of the Appalachian Family.
Please refrain from any inappropriate remarks or derogatory actions before, during, or after the contest. Show respect for your team and your university by showing respect to everyone. We want to be known as having the best athletic program, the best teams, and the best fans in America.
Play like champions – Act like champions!
